The Covidian Cult (Part III)

In The Covidian Cult (Part I) and (Part II), I characterized the so-called “New Normal” as a “global totalitarian ideological movement.” Since I published those essays, more and more people have come to see it for what it is, not “insanity” or “an overreaction,” but, in fact, a new form of totalitarianism, a globalized, pathologized, depoliticized form, which is being systematically implemented under the guise of “protecting the public health.”

In order to oppose this new form of totalitarianism, we need to understand how it both resembles and differs from earlier totalitarian systems. The similarities are fairly obvious — the suspension of constitutional rights, governments ruling by decree, official propaganda, public loyalty rituals, the outlawing of political opposition, censorship, social segregation, goon squads terrorizing the public, and so on — but the differences are not as obvious.

Whereas 20th-Century totalitarianism (i.e., the form most people are generally familiar with) was more or less national and overtly political, New Normal totalitarianism is supranational, and its ideology is much more subtle. The New Normal is not Nazism or Stalinism. It is global-capitalist totalitarianism, and global capitalism doesn’t have an ideology, technically, or, rather, its ideology is “reality.” When you are an unrivaled global ideological hegemon, as global capitalism has been for the last 30 years or so, your ideology automatically becomes “reality,” because there are no competing ideologies. Actually, there is no ideology at all … there is only “reality” and “unreality,” “normality” and “deviations from the norm.”

Yes, I know, reality is reality … that’s why I’m putting all these terms in scare quotes, so, please, spare me the lengthy emails conclusively proving the reality of reality and try to understand how this works.

There is reality (whatever you believe it is), and there is “reality,” which dictates how our societies function. “Reality” is constructed (i.e., simulated), collectively, according to the ideology of whatever system controls society. In the past, “reality” was openly ideological, regardless of which “reality” you lived in, because there were other competing “realities” out there. There aren’t anymore. There is only the one “reality,” because the entire planet — yes, including China, Russia, North Korea, and wherever — is controlled by one globally hegemonic system.

A globally hegemonic system has no need for ideology, because it doesn’t have to compete with rival ideologies. So it erases ideology and replaces it with “reality.” Reality (whatever you personally believe it is, which of course is what it really is) is not actually erased. It just doesn’t matter, because you do not get to dictate “reality.” Global capitalism gets to dictate “reality,” or, more accurately, it simulates “reality,” and in so doing simulates the opposite of “reality,” which is equally if not more important.

This global-capitalist-manufactured “reality” is a depoliticized, ahistorical “reality,” which forms an invisible ideological boundary establishing the limits of what is “real.” In this way, global capitalism (a) conceals its ideological nature, and (b) renders any and all ideological opposition automatically illegitimate, or, more accurately, non-existent. Ideology as we knew it disappears. Political, ethical, and moral arguments are reduced to the question of what is “real” or “factual,” which the GloboCap “experts” and “fact checkers” dictate.

Also, because this “reality” is not a cohesive ideological system with fundamental values, core principles, and so on, it can be drastically revised or completely replaced more or less at a moment’s notice. Global capitalism has no fundamental values — other than exchange value, of course — and thus it is free to manufacture any kind of “reality” it wants, and replace one “reality” with a new “reality” any time that serves its purposes, like stagehands changing a theatrical set.

For example, the “Global War on Terror,” which was the official “reality” from 2001 until it was canceled in the Summer of 2016, when the “War on Populism” was officially launched. Or, now, the “New Normal,” which replaced the “War on Populism” in the Spring of 2020. Each of which new simulations of “reality” was rolled out abruptly, clumsily even, like that scene in 1984 where the Party switches official enemies right in the middle of a Hate Week speech.

Seriously, think about where we are currently, 18 months into our new “reality,” then go back and review how GloboCap blatantly rolled out the New Normal in the Spring of 2020 … and the majority of the masses didn’t even blink. They seamlessly transitioned to the new “reality” in which a virus, rather than “white supremacists,” or “Russian agents,” or “Islamic terrorists,” had become the new official enemy. They put away the scripts they had been reciting verbatim from for the previous four years, and the scripts they had been reciting from for the previous 15 years before that, and started frantically jabbering Covid cult-speak like they were auditioning for an over-the-top Orwell parody.

Which brings us to the problem of the Covidian cult … how to get through to them, which, make no mistake, we have to do, one way or another, or the New Normal will become our permanent “reality.”

I called the New Normals a “Covidian Cult,” not to gratuitously insult or mock them, but because that is what totalitarianism is … a cult writ large, on a societal scale. Anyone who has tried to get through to them can confirm the accuracy of that analogy. You can show them the facts until you’re blue in the face. It will not make the slightest difference. You think you are having a debate over facts, but you are not. You are threatening their new “reality.” You think you are struggling to get them to think rationally. You are not. What you are is a heretic, an agent of demonic forces, an enemy of all that is “real” and “true.”

The Scientologists would label you a “suppressive person.” The New Normals call you a “conspiracy theorist,” an “anti-vaxxer,” or a “virus denier.” The specific epithets don’t really matter. They are just labels that cult members and totalitarians use to demonize those they perceive as “enemies” … anyone challenging the “reality” of the cult, or the “reality” of the totalitarian system.

The simple fact of the matter is, you can’t talk people out of a cult, and you can’t talk them out of totalitarianism. Usually, what you do, in the case of a cult, is, you get the person out of the cult. You kidnap them, take them to a safehouse or wherever, surround them with a lot of non-cult members, and deprogram them gradually over the course of several days. You do this because, while they are still inside the cult, you cannot get through to them. They cannot hear you. A cult is a collective, self-contained “reality.” Its power flows from the social organism composed of the cult leaders and the other cult members. You cannot “talk” this power away. You have to physically remove the person from it before you can begin to reason with them.

Unfortunately, we do not have this option. The New Normal is a global totalitarian system. There is no “outside” of the system to retreat to. We can’t kidnap everyone and take them to Sweden. As I noted in Part I of this series, the cult/society paradigm has been inverted. The cult has become the dominant society, and those of us who have not been converted have become a collection of isolated islands existing, not outside, but within the cult.

So we need to adopt a different strategy. We need to make the monster show itself, not to those of us who can already see it, but to the New Normal masses, the Covidian cultists. We need to make Jim Jones drop the peace-and-love crap, move into the jungle, and break out the Kool-Aid. We need to make Charles Manson put down his guitar, cancel orgy-time, and go homicidal hippie. This is how you take down a cult from within. You do not try to thwart its progress; you push it toward its logical conclusion. You make it manifest its full expression, because that it when it implodes, and dies. You do not do that by being polite, conciliatory, or avoiding conflict. You do that by generating as much internal conflict within the cult as you can.

In other words, we need to make GloboCap (and its minions) go openly totalitarian … because it can’t. If it could, it would have done so already. Global capitalism cannot function that way. Going openly totalitarian will cause it to implode … no, not global capitalism itself, but this totalitarian version of it. In fact, this is starting to happen already. It needs the simulation of “reality,” and “democracy,” and “normality,” to keep the masses docile. So we need to attack that simulation. We need to hammer on it until it cracks, and the monster hiding within in appears.

That is the weakness of the system … the New Normal totalitarianism will not work if the masses perceive it as totalitarianism, as a political/ideological program, rather than as “a response to a deadly pandemic.” So we need to make it visible as totalitarianism. We need to force the New Normals to see it as what it is. I do not mean that we need to explain it to them. They are beyond the reach of explanations. I mean that we need to make them see it, feel it, tangibly, inescapably, until they recognize what they are collaborating with.

Stop arguing with them on their terms, and instead directly attack their “reality.” When they start jabbering about the virus, the variants, the “vaccines,” and all the other Covid cult-speak, do not get sucked into their narrative. Do not respond as if they were rational. Respond as if they were talking about “Xenu,” “body thetans,” “Helter Skelter,” or any other cultoid nonsense, because that it is exactly what it is. Same goes for their rules and restrictions, the “face coverings,” the “social distancing,” and so on. Stop arguing against them on the grounds that they don’t work. Of course they don’t work, but that is not the point (and arguing that way sucks you into their “reality”). Oppose them because of what they are, a collection of bizarre compliance rituals performed to cement allegiance to the cult and create a general atmosphere of “deadly pandemic.”

There are many ways to go about doing this, i.e., generating internal conflict. I have been doing it my way, others are doing it theirs. If you’re one of them, thank you. If you’re not, start. Do it however and wherever you can. Make the New Normals face the monster, the monster they are feeding … the monster they have become.

Extracting half the population from the Covidian Death Cult’s hypnotic trance requires eliminating mainstream media news as well as removing all big tech totalitarians overseeing social platforms. Hopkins is correct, this clever “psyops’ is designed to capture cult believers who are thoroughly convinced of a self-righteousness endowed by a sense superiority for the piousness of accepting medical compliance.

    However, many are “not” drinking the sacramental Kool-Aid and are realizing “COVID mania” transcends health related issues. ALL security state projects are “multi-dimensional.” The economic component associated with vaccine passports cannot be overlooked it’s all interconnected. I recommend the following podcasts.     1. You are one of the very few aware that the media bombarding works through people’s narcissism. All it takes is picture who doesn’t bow down and comply as worse and inferior. At that point, the average vain human will perceive as a token of their superiority and being better to comply and bow down to every direction.
      And they are a wide majority, and a wide majority is enough for the orchestrators.

      There’s also the aim to sell a previously unthinkable number of vaccines.
      I mean, vaccines had been sold, while totally useless, more than once in the last 2 decades, bought by governments for “national security”. But they had been kept in giant refrigerators, and thrown away after awhile.
      This time, the whole thing is, well, elevated to a whole new height. They talk with ease of “third doses”, “fourth doses”, and a never ending need for vaccination since variants will never end. Lol.

      Very discomforting to see how quickly “journalists”, and everybody else, fall to the same lows they were at in the first decades of the past century.

Have you reviewed the full spectrum, from right to left (except the “far-right”, that is), media, TV radio newspapers social media info websites… all taking shots at “no vaxxers”, derogating them in every way, subtle and ubsubtle, apparently civilized and openly uncivilized, giving the microphone to all sorts of popular figures to have these recite the same messages, derogation and insults.

    It’s the same methods used all over the world, pointing to different directions, a couple decades ago.
    Well, they still work.
    That they don’t work on all people is weightless. They work on enough, indeed far more than enough, people to let the stage managers run their show.

Terms like “conspiracy theorist,” “anti-vaxxer,” and “virus denier” are also the kinds of thought stopping techniques that keep people cemented into cult ideologies, which depend on an “us vs them” relationship to those outside the cult. There’s no way you’ll persuade a cult follower of anything if they view you as one of “them.” That’s also why they get belligerent about anything that casts doubt on their ideas – it puts them at risk of losing the feelings of comfort and safety they gain by being being one of “us.” But they do have doubts – they’re just terrified of admitting those doubts publicly.

    1. I’m not sure that they do have doubts – at least not consciously. The belligerence is indeed an emotional reaction which cuts in when – but just before – rational thought threatens to create doubts. It is the belligerence which ensures doubts do not have a chance to form.

      2. I agree that the doubts are unconscious. But I think those doubts are present, and evidenced by the unsolicited belligerence you often hear from them in the way of eliminationist rhetoric (“We have a pandemic of the unvaccinated,” etc.).

        I also believe that those doubts can be leveraged to get some of them to partially escape the brainwashing. I suspect that many vaxxed people are dubious about getting boosters. Not all, but more than would let on. They were told that this stuff was 99.95% effective, and that the jab was their ticket to freedom. But now, boosters? Really?

        However, the truly brainwashed will stay brainwashed, now that it’s part of their identity.

          Many who took the initial vaccines either Pfizer, J&J, etc… had very scarry reactions: fever, body pain, or an excessive tiredness that went on for weeks if not months.     Second… With ~5.38 billion MIRACLE INOCULATIONS done and even more PCR kits used clearly there is nothing that a few thousands of uman animals can say that wil be able to defeat the “SMART”phone, aka brain of the MMS/3i’s, so it seems that I can only post this image once again, because a few fellow slaves still think it’s possible!

  10. Great post, that’s what I’m talking about! Ignoring the fake ‘reality’ and living about revealing that they are the goons. It definitely gets a notice., you can see that. It’s great to occasionally see others about doing the same, and catching a slight eye contact saying ‘you got it’ before carrying on. We’re not alone, and we won’t take it if force is attempted. The police forces already know they have men inside that are planning to oppose any crap. This is true in every force in the US, and likely everywhere. The backlash is coiled and ready at a moment’s notice. If it gets too far, the stupid political whores will find out they are dispensable as soon as day becomes night, and the war is over. The stupid elites have no friends, only loyal whores, and they know that if too much time is used between actions, their former loyal whores will form other loyalties that oppose them, and they can’t stop the internal defection cascade. And a cascade it will always be, and it has begun. The more they push at this point, the more likely the cascade will affect the deeper structure of the cabal. This scares them more than anything, and the “REALITY” of that is happening whether they like or not, and it is happening. They have past ‘peak power’. The turning has begun. They will disappear and hide or whimper in distress – there is no other option at this point.

  12. Brilliant! Could we not go further in analyzing the non-ideological (or more precisely post-ideological) nature of the new totalitarianism? Does it not have something to do with the technocratic underpinnings of global capitalism? ā€œIdeasā€ actually thought by human beings as well as their ā€œfeelingsā€ no longer matter, and therefore it is a waste of time to take them seriously. What matters instead are bits of information, numbers on your medical tests or in your bank account. So if the PCR test shows a positive result, you are ill and a ā€œcaseā€ of Covid, regardless of how you feel. You may have never done a dayā€™s work in your life, but if your computer program enables you to make a killing in the stock market, you can spend your life sipping martinis on a Pacific island. In the New Normal, the human mind and heart are increasingly irrelevant. Too bad for artists and writers.

  14. It has to be something like the lunch counter sit ins during the civil rights movement in the south. Like all protests this was performance, not intended to sway the virulent racists hurling abuse at the protestors but to use those people to sway the fence sitters. The sight of unhinged racists abusing non violent black protestors told those fence sitters (who up until then could convince themselves that everyone should just do what was done before and not complain) to pick a side and fast.

    We are dealing with something similar now. There are people right now who would support and relish marching the unvaccinated to camps to die. Those people are our enemies, and we wouldnā€™t want to change their minds even if we could. But there are still fence sitters (who donā€™t know theyā€™re on the fence yet); these are the people we have to turn. Provoking reactions from the most hysterical covidians is a way to do that.

      Regarding “those who donā€™t know theyā€™re on the fence yet”: with (1) the (so-called) “vaccine pass” required to access some events, services and businesses and (2) companies & corporations requiring their employees to be (so-called) “vaccinated” — I prefer the wording “jabbed with mRNA technology instructing human cells to produce pathogenic spike protein” — in order to continue to work, the fence is becoming more observable.

      Some people don’t even know there is a fence that they are straddling. With the existence of the fence becoming more plain and clear, there will be no excuse but to take a side, and to choose swiftly.

      Personally, I think that what’s happening before our very eyes is the division of us commoners — the authoritarian elites treat the commoners as unhinged racists abused non-violent black protestors practicing civil disobedience — into humans and sub-humans. Human rights are being violated. The rights of the Unvaccinated / the Ungeimpfte, the Untermenschen / the sub-humans are being trampled on.

      It won’t take long for some of the fence-sitters — who still believe that trusting their governments’ trust in BigPharma was the right thing to do, resulting in them getting vaxxed / vexed — to question that trust and take the appropriate countermeasures.

    3. A possibly useful difference between the lunch counter days and now is that the fence sitters in that era knew they’d never be the target of the violence because they were white. Today’s vituperative vax nazis don’t realize that the tables can turn quickly, then they become the targets. Israel has already declared that you’re not officially vaccinated if you didn’t get your booster(s). So the predator becomes the prey, overnight. Totalitarians need no excuse for punishing groups that used to be loyal. Because you can never be loyal enough to satisfy a totalitarian, they can always demand more.

    1. Indeed. I think “capitalism” is a word designed to confuse and cloud clear thinking. It refers to any society which permits the ownership of capital. As such I believe that one cannot have a free society without capitalism, but one may most certainly have a slave society with capitalism.

      The key lies in free competition vs monpolism. People used to place the adjective free-market before capitilism as in “free market capitalism”, presumably because they recognized the need to distinguish between free market capitalism and monopoly capitalism which is also known as fascism.

      By setting up “capitalism” instead of “freedom” as the defining characteristic of our system, we also allow “socialism” or “communism” to be sold as an improvement. Whereas in fact the correct way of looking at things is to have freedom as the defining charactreristic, and monoplism as its opposite. Which lets one see that socialism and communism are simply even more extreme examples of monopolism and less free even than we have today. Or maybe they are actually no worse than what we have today, but they are certainly no better either.

        That was an excellent analysis. You’re correct capitalism no longer exists it’s been replaced by monolithic monopolization and public/private partnerships more akin to fascism. It’s interesting to note, Wall Street and US industry was willing to support Hitler until he invaded Poland. And today, Wall Street trillion dollar hedge funds are heavily invested in China. Plutocrats prefer authoritarianism liberal democracies are messy, more uncertain, and difficult to control.

  16. Regarding different forms of totalitarianism: a (deep or shallow) dive into “inverted totalitarianism” (Sheldon Wolin) might be instructive.
    Inverted totalitarianism serves as a bridge between the traditional totalitarianism of the Nazi & Stalinist nation-states and the global technocratic totalitarianism (dominated by the capitalist and rentier classes) we CJ Hopkins readers are observing & struggling under presently.

  17. So i am working at a kindergarten in germany and things are still very rough here as well, with the kids having to be tested two times a week, us teachers having to wear masks all the time and the children being strictly segregated into groups.
    Most of my co-workers seem pretty scared by the fear-mongering media and are on board with most of the story, others not so much but for most of us i think, we just feel we have no power over the events and just try to do the best we can to help the kids. Out of all us, 14 are vaccinated, it’s just me and another co-worker who still refuse to take the shot(s and shots and shots..).
    For 18 Months now i am truly struggling with how i could do the things you ask us to do, because there is an enormous risk of hurting the harmony of our well running team and a chance for negative consequences for me personally, also it’s true, that we have little power to change anything. But still it’s driving me mad to be a silent collaborateur in all the horrible shit that is happening, to kids especially.
    But today i had a really great moment i wanted to share, it’s not much, but it’s something and actually meant a lot to me. My boss asked me, why i still wasn’t vaccinated, that i would have a responsibility to protect our children and their families, from the virus and from having to close down and going into quarantine. So i told her, how i am just not okay with anything that has been happening since March 2020, that the way we as a society are treating our children horrifies me beyond rational thought and that if i could truly believe, that i could end this horror by taking the vaccine, i would do it. But i just can’t believe that, i really am convinced, that by doing so, i would give my agreement to anything that has been done and signal them, that they really can do what they want with us and our children.
    She then told me, she understood and that it was okay. This felt so great for me because i was always so afraid to speak up about anything, but after doing so, even my boss said she could see my point. But sadly, it’s just that, she can see my point. She’s still just a powerless cog on a wheel, the boss over a kindergarten with 16 employees, but being employed herself by the catholic church, who owns the place but also just implements the measures our state dictates.
    I don’t know, if this feeling of being powerless in a system and just taking orders is something inherently german, other countrys seem at least to be able to muster a bit more of a protest, but i feel it’s also part of the zeitgeist. I can’t really see any way to change this besides to hope, that this way we want to treat ourselves, each other and the world right now radicalizes itself so quickly and insufferably, that enough people can’t take it anymore. But right now i feel people just can’t see any way into a peaceful and harmoneous future anymore, so they accept fear and destructive thinking as being the only rational way to see the world.
    I’m heavily rambling, so i really have to stop and just tell you, how thankful i am for 18 Months of great articles, calling this madness for what it this, which very much helped me keep my sanity throughout these times. I wish you all the best to help you keep your nerves, edge and all you need to continue giving us these great pieces.

    1. Thank you for sharing your experience. I hope others will read it and reflect on it. I often feel guilty, taking the stance I take, because, as a self-employed author, I have the luxury of not having to deal with bosses, organizations, etc. I can’t imagine how hard it is for you, trying to take care of the children in these circumstances, but I am glad people like you are there, doing what you can. We all need to resist this, however we can, as much as we can, depending on our situations. I’m glad to hear that you spoke up to your boss, and that she listened and respected your position. Sometimes it’s the little steps like this that create ripples that create more ripples and end up creating more change than we know. More and more people like you are speaking up now … keep pushing back, however you can, and don’t lose hope. Oh, and, mindless order-following is not at all unique to Germans.     2. I feel for you. Please keep your sanity, those kids will be grateful. Iā€™m a mom, and every time my girl is annoyed by the nonsensical restrictions I make it a point to acknowledge her critical sense and tell her sheā€™s right. Because, she is – and I choose to honor her intelligence, rather than make her a compliant, obedient citizen. So keep your head and donā€™t back from your sense of reality, youā€™re setting a great example for them too. Thank you. Resist.

      We need a kid to yell ā€œthe emperor is nakedā€, and finally laugh out of the cult. Soon, I hope.

    Today trying to talk anyone away from the COVIDIUS religion is like trying to do the same in relation to the rest of Uman-Made religions (aka fairy tales).
