The Propaganda War (Part II)

The column you are about to read is propaganda. Yes, that’s right … propaganda. It isn’t political satire or commentary, or objective news or information, or unbiased, verified scientific fact. It is propaganda, pure and simple.

That isn’t a confession, a disclaimer, or a warning. I am not ashamed of writing propaganda. Most everything you see and read on the Internet, and in newspapers, and on television, and in textbooks, and novels, and on advertising billboards, and everywhere else, is propaganda. There is nothing wrong with propaganda. The question is who is doing it, and what they are doing it for. Here’s the definition in the Cambridge Dictionary:

“information, ideas, opinions, or images, often only giving one part of an argument, that are broadcast, published, or in some other way spread with the intention of influencing people’s opinions”

That is what the column you are reading is … an attempt to influence people’s opinions. Of course, that isn’t all it is. Nothing is ever only one thing. But it is absolutely propaganda. And so is everything else that you will read today.

I’m terribly sorry if this comes as a shock, but there is no “objective” fantasy-land in which no one is trying to persuade you of anything or pressure you or otherwise influence you to do something. It does not exist, this “objective” dreamworld, where “authoritative sources” report “the facts,” where “the facts” are “verified” by “neutral” “fact checkers,” where ex-NSA and CIA spooks are hired as commentators by MSNBC and CNN because they care about “the truth,” where “science” is immune to manipulation. This fantasy is the alibi of authoritarians, cult leaders, and assorted other control freaks, and the people they have brainwashed into believing in it.

Everyone — and I do mean literally everyone — is trying to persuade or convince you of something. Your friends, family, colleagues, your boss, advertisers, lobbyists, government officials, the media, artists, teachers, doctors, journalists, bloggers, Twitter bots, etc. This isn’t cause for paranoia. It’s a natural part of human social behavior. It is happening right now as you read this sentence. I’m trying to convince you of something. In a moment, I’m going to urge you to do something.

This is how we create “reality,” collectively, by persuading and influencing each other, or allowing ourselves to be persuaded and influenced, mostly by powerful ideological forces that do not care about us, and just want to control us, but also by each other, moment by moment, with every word we speak and every action we take.

Every choice we make is an advertisement, a political statement, a profession of faith … a small contribution to a work of art we are collectively creating, which is what “reality” is. You and I are doing it right now. I’m trying my best to influence you, and you’re deciding whether to let me do that, whether you trust me … whether we share the same “reality.”

This process (or this negotiation, if you will) is never-ending, and there is no escape from it. Pretending that it isn’t happening — that we are not creating “reality” together with every choice we make — is childish, and is particularly dangerous at a time like this, when a new form of totalitarianism is being rolled out all across the world. This is not the time to retreat into fantasies. As I noted in Part I of this piece, we are in a propaganda war, and we are losing. GloboCap is manufacturing a new “reality,” a pathologized-totalitarian “reality.” Either you accept it, and conform to it, or you oppose it. Those are the choices. There are no other choices.

All right, now that we’ve got that straight, let’s get down to the propaganda at hand, and what it is that I am urging you to do.

I think the young people call this a “meme.” It is something everyone can do. Make a tweet or a post like this, with your name, face, country, and details, whatever restrictions apply to you. Use the hashtag. Circulate it. Encourage others to do the same. Don’t even mention the virus or the “vaccines.” Focus on the totalitarianism. Make it visible. Make it personal. We need the New Normals to see the faces of the people they are demonizing because we won’t convert to their new “reality.”

No, it will not make the slightest difference to the fanatics, but most of them are not fanatics. Most of them are simply scared and confused, and utterly mindfucked … as in their brains are not working. Literally. They are no longer able to think. Challenge them, and they will either become aggressive or start robotically repeating propaganda at you like the members of an enormous cult. Anyone who has interacted with them (and I have a feeling that you probably have) knows that they are totally unreachable with facts, argumentation, and basic reasoning, not to mention common sense, which is why I have mostly given up on that and am focusing on propaganda.

Propaganda programmed these people, and propaganda can deprogram them … or at least it can interfere with their current programming, even if just for a fleeting moment, maybe even enough to start them thinking, which might lead them to questioning the official “reality” … which, as any cult deprogrammer will tell you, is the first step toward disengaging from the cult.

Yes, it is just a picture and some words, but, if you doubt the power of visual propaganda, consider what GloboCap has achieved in the relatively short span of 17 months. They have imposed a new official ideology (in other words, a new “reality”) on societies all across the world.

Seriously, think about that for a moment … they have literally implemented a new global “reality.” They have done this primarily with propaganda, much of it visual propaganda, which functions on a primal, instinctual level. They inundated the public with images of disease, hospitals, patients on ventilators, body bags being stacked in death trucks, mass burials, and people dropping dead in the streets. They forced everyone to wear medical-looking masks and to perform an ever-changing series of pointless, paranoid compliance rituals to generate an atmosphere of “deadly contagion.” Basically, they transformed the entire planet into an inescapable pandemic-theater production in which the terrorized performers are also the audience. They did this mostly with visual propaganda, images and observed behavior. (The nonsense the New Normals robotically recite at us isn’t meant to believed; it is meant to be memorized and repeated verbatim, like religious dogma, or a customer-service-representative’s script.)

And, if you think your tweet or post doesn’t matter … well, it’s now about 48 hours since I posted mine, and thousands of people all over the world are joining in with tweets and posts of their own. (OffGuardian is collecting some of them here and inviting people to add their voices.) Twitter is suppressing the #NewNormal hashtag and slapping “sensitive content” warnings on the tweets. Fanatical New Normals, furious at being shown the faces of the people they are demonizing, are shrieking insults, death wishes, threats, mockery, and other vitriolic abuse at us, and demanding that the authorities censor us, and desperately attempting to disappear us by adding the hashtag to random gibberish.

That wouldn’t be happening if our voices didn’t matter.

What we’re doing is basically an online version of classic non-violent civil disobedience. We are disrupting the new official narrative, the official ideology, the official “reality,” even if just marginally, and just for a moment. Join in. Ignore the fanatical New Normals shrieking hatred at us on the Internet. Interrupt the “pandemic-theater” performance. Make the new totalitarianism visible. Make it personal … for them, and for us.

  7. Mr Hopkins, while I fully appreciate your statements (and am grateful for them) I fear you exaggerate. That’s OK, actually: As John Maynard Keynes wrote in 1933, “Words ought to be a little wild, for they are the assault of thoughts on the unthinking”.

    But I, for one – and I may be in a tiny minority in this regard – believe firmly in objective reality and impartial truth. I am with Philip K. Dick, who warned that “Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn’t go away”. And Dr Johnson’s “I refute it thus!”

    Proper science and mathematics depend wholly on objective reality, which has nothing at all to do with anyone’s opinion. So does technology: an aircraft flies only if designed and built correctly in every way, regardless of anyone’s feelings, wishes or opinions. It is certainly quite true that most people nowadays seem to be trying to “get on in life” by various means, most of which include a good deal of lying, deceiving, exaggeration and… yes, propaganda.

    Instead of crusading under the banner of “Our propaganda is better than theirs!” (why?) I would prefer us to claim that we are objectively right and they are objectively wrong. That can be proven, although a great number of people may be too stupid or depraved to listen or understand.

      1. A comforting fantasy no doubt. I’ve seen reality as something temporary and changeable because I have explored the edges of consciousness, explored phenomena science tends to reject and so on. Rupert Sheldrake has put some of this within a looser and more inclusive scientific context.

True story, look it up. I find that humorous but aside from that, my point is that you’re trying to argue with an animal. Telling Fido why he needs to stay out of the street isn’t nearly effective as holding out a treat or yelling in a deep voice.

    That is far from the best article about Perelman – I didn’t want to take too much time grubbing around among newspapers – but I distinctly remember his explaining that he didn’t want money; he didn’t want acclaim or fame or admiration. All he wanted was to be left alone to do maths. Admirable, and reminiscent of Diogenes’ reply to Alexander the Great, who visited him (supposedly living in a barrel, with no more posssessions than a Buddhist monk) and asked what he could do for him. “You could move away; you are blocking the sunlight”.

  15. On the surface, this is a great idea. The problem (and you can see it happening online with #NewNormal as I write this) is that Twitter “owns the street” you are protesting on. By using their tools to pare down the tweets from supporters to a bare minimum, while allowing bots and sheeple embracing these changes to overwhelm those tweets with their own responses, they have managed to make it appear to most people that only a tiny minority are objecting. This may have had the reverse of the effect you were aiming for.

    This is one of the main differences between “virtual protests” such as this one, and actual protests in “meat-space” where people physically show up somewhere. Had this been a real-life event, it is likely that only your supporters would have shown up, and it would be harder for the PTB to deny your numbers by erasing their voices.

    1. The graffitio is photoshopped. Note the strong perspective of the concrete walls, whilst the red text is overlaid almost flat onto the original photograph. Luckily, telling evidence and fake apart is sometimes still as easy as that.

      Unfortunately, the author sacrifices credibility for maximal emotional impact, which disqualifies this article as a contribution to real understanding. It just fails on the other side of truth.

      Although the caveat “this is propaganda”, accompagnied by “everything is propaganda”, makes a strong contrast to MSM (which attribute the label “propaganda” to opposing or alternative media, only), it likewise lulls the reader into just following the story that is told, surrendering any sense of truthfulness.

      On a higher level, both kinds of propaganda are a chance for the reader to exercise free thinking regardless.

    You can go to a doctor and you can ask, “What is the definition of health?” and you will be surprised that no doctor can answer it.

    At the most he can say, “When a person has no illnesses they are healthy.”

    But what kind of definition is this?

    Health is a positive phenomenon and you are defining it negatively.

    Illness they can define.

    But a single phenomenon, health, remains indefinable, it has not been studied at all.

    The person who is perfectly well should be the criterion, they should be the decisive factor.

    The word ‘health’ is beautiful.

    It comes from the same root as the word ‘whole’.

    Health, healing, whole, holy, they all come from the same root.

    Remember, the mind cannot be healthy because it can never be whole.

    Mind is always divided, division is its base.

    And politicians and behavioral psychologists are exploiting this division, pitting people against people.

    If mind cannot be whole, how can it be healthy?

    And if it cannot be healthy, how can it be holy?

    All minds are profane.

    There is nothing like a holy mind.

    A holy person lives without the mind because they live without division.

    It is oneness.

    So why is the mind divided?

    Why can’t you be one?

    You would like, you wish to be one, but you go on choosing the divisions, listening to the propaganda, blinded by beliefs, choosing to like and dislike according to your programmed bias.

    Politicians have created this whole mess around you, that is why you are in such misery.

    Nobody else has created it, they have locked you in your mind using division, creating the disease of preference, of choosing.

    Don’t choose.

    Stop listening to the politicians, stop listening to the propaganda.

    Accept life as it is in its totality.

    You must look at the total.

    Life and death together, love and hate together, happiness and unhappiness together, agony and ecstasy together.

    If you look at them together, then what is there to choose?

    Enjoy your life, here-now, every moment free from the politicians imposed interference.

    Your educational system exists not to help people to become intelligent, but to hinder people from becoming intelligent by imposing divisions, propaganda and nonsense beliefs.

    It exists there so that everybody can be reduced to a mediocre being.

    People are not allowed to be intelligent, because intelligent people are dangerous to the ruling elites.

    Remember, belief is a conditioning imposed upon you by others.

    It is a slavery.

    Belief will make you more disintegrated than you are.

    Belief will keep you a slave.

    Belief will help you, certainly, to become part of a herd, of a crowd.

    Unquestioning, compliant, obedient.

    It will be a kind of security, it is comfortable, convenient.

    But the believer remains asleep.

    Belief is a strategy to repress doubt.

    Belief always represses doubt.

    That’s why believers become fanatics.

    Look at all the mask and vax fanatics!

    What is a fanatic?

    A person who has such strong doubt inside themselves that unless they are a fanatic they will not be able to repress it.

    They are afraid of their doubt, they are so much afraid of their own doubt that they will never look within.

    They have to create such fanaticism around themselves, such smoke of fanaticism, that the doubt gets completely lost.

    And the fanatic cannot communicate, they are afraid, you may say something to them that will bring their doubt again to the surface.

    They cannot listen to the other side.

    Only hard learned experiences from reality will ever change a fanatic, but most can never accept that their imposed beliefs are ever divisive, damaging or mis-informed.

    Nobody is here to fulfill your dream.

    Everybody is here to fulfill their own destiny, their own reality.

    One should simply exist spontaneously.

    Live in the moment.

    Be alert.

    And out of that alertness, whatsoever happens, enjoy it.

    Don’t fight for a belief.

    Don’t fight for a prejudice.

    But if the moment brings injustice, fight, fight, and fight totally, intensely.

    Be victorious over those who are still barbarians, the psychopaths who still enjoy violence and domination over other people.

    Unite together as a fearless, deafening lions roar!

But propaganda can be differentiated along one important axis: stuff you try to convince other people is true because you honestly think it is, versus stuff you try to convince other people is true because you see some benefit to yourself in deceiving them. “Propaganda” is a dirty word because of the strength of association with that second meaning. With, say, politicians who don’t want the experimental gene therapy anywhere near them, but do photoshoots where they pretend to be “vaccinated,” in the hopes that other people will be duped.

    Whether you’re right or wrong about the state of public health, CJ, you’re standing behind your actual beliefs. The elected leaders, technocrats, pharmaceutical imperialists, and their media lackeys are not arguing for what they do themselves or tell their loved ones. The advice they’re giving (coercively, insistently, and augmenting with every kind of psychological manipulation they know) is what they hope people they don’t give two hoots about will do.

    In evaluating propaganda, there’s people who speak up because they believe that each of us contributing what we see leads to better collective perception, and people who look down on others and seek to mislead and thereby dominate them. The former can be misinformed, but they aren’t deliberately lying. The latter, of course, can also be misinformed, but they’re also trying to screw the rest of the world over.     I don’t care if people believe the truth or not … you can lead a horse to water. I am not trying to convince people of anything, just putting the truth out there .

    Many people are living in fear and delusions in an a media created unreality .
    There is polarity where some believe media/govt( Covidians) and some that know ” covid19″ is a psyop.

    There are also unconscious people and then there are people waking up
    Spreading fearmongering and banging on the war drums is unhelpful, the govt probably tagged that line for effect as that divide and conquer meme is what they need( want) .
    A fear induced egoic us vs them . But in your defense CJ you did confess it was propaganda.
    The traumatized psyop brain’s reaction is an attempt to solve the “threat” by moving out of freeze/flight to fight. But this govt directed ( civil war) is action without the brains executive functioning ie the pre frontal cortex.

    Just because some people are delusional ( in a media created unreality in the cult of Covidian )it does not mean you have to start a war on them . Dropping to their level and fighting with them only strengthens their insanity.
    You can speak the facts and truth sanely without being emotionally reactive, only like that will you be helpful.
    For what you fight you strengthen EG War on drugs, prohibition, War on terrorism etc.

  43. Salaam, my friend, I do hope this message reaches you in good spirits. I am concerned that you are absent as it seems you are slightly delayed in delivering us fellow ostracized your wonderful and profound insights in blog form. Pardon if you are simply enjoying an August German holiday, but as I know of your travails in the the land of kraut and Turinger Wurst, I have become concerned. For you to know, some of us who have never written before or communicated in any way to you before, read your posts regularly (I first read you on ZeroHedge), and highly respect and admire and comraderize with you on each word. So best to you, hope you are fine and getting better, and looking forward to your dictates again, especially one where you can offer us some glimmer of hope for you in the land of mandates.

    In the US, I think the lies have defeated themselves, as the pushing is seeming to become more of a joke to us in the resistance rather than a deterrent. And first data seems to confirm that the mandates are finding resistance that is being given green lights, meaning a lot of ‘religious exemptions’ are being accepted to push the BS employer-mandates forward. For most people, simply saying you have a religious exemption is enough, as the majority of employers HR departments aren’t planning to attack everybody who requests it. We’ll see how far it goes, but if Globocap is smart enough (still even debatable), they’d drop this now, as the alternative won’t move the needle in their direction any more. They have achieved peak power, and from here it diminishes.

    It will be interesting to see how far they still try to push it, but the tide has definitely turned. There was a mother in Chicago where the judge ruled she couldn’t see her son until she got jabbed, but the backlash was so great (even as no evidence of that backlash exists, simply stories about the facts) they keep saying the backlash caused the judge to reverse it. GET THAT – THE JUDGE REVERSED THE RULING TO MANDATE A VAX!! That is the final turning point. They lost. Keep the faith, my dear brother, you are the one I always smile to find still around. Keep up the turned-cheek fight, as I know you are born to do. With your words, you have inspired and informed more than you can ever know. Love you, brother, Keep On!!
